some updates on @farnalytics:

➪ the paywall on the advanced analytics screen has been removed, and all screens are now free to view for all users.

my reason for having it there initially was to cover development costs (currently ~$75/month), but now i want to see whether it'll be possible to cover the cost using revenue from token fees alone.

all subscribers have been refunded - thank you for supporting.

➪ a new feature has been pushed to the advanced analytics screen: highlights.

it shows a rough summary of some of your stats and has a streak feature that tracks your daily posts.

streaks are lost if you miss a day without sending out a cast or quote cast here on FC <> replies don't count.

➪ the cast scheduler and leaderboard are still in the works. i'll share more on them as things develop.

~1 week since launch and there's been 131 people who've checked out the app.

why isn't this app more popular than it is rn?

i opened it yesterday to see what it was about, and ended up spending a good 20+ mins on the demo.

props to dev (couldn't find their handle) for a well designed app.

tldr on the app:

– you can enter leveraged positions on btc by pressing and holding down on the "long" button; as long as you keep the long button held down, you hold that position.

– when the chart goes positive and above your entry, you take your hand off the button and your position is exited and profits secured. vice versa for a negative turn.

– there's a demo and a live version, so you can try it out without worrying about losing real money.

note: the chain being used for trades is hyperliquid.

to trade live, you can either fund your farcaster wallets with hypeEVM usdc from a external wallet or use the inapp bridge to swap usdc (base or arbitrum) to hypeEVM usdc (your farcaster wallets supports all EVM chains, so yes, you can access the hyperliquid chain).

don't also forget to send some hype for gas from an external wallet.

that said, you don't have to go live if you don't want to. the demo is pretty fun as is. i'm currently topping the 30d pnl leaderboard for the demo😅

p.s. @hodlerlive, it would be great to:

- for security, have the smart contract ask us to approve the exact amount we'll be spending, not all - i plan on using revoke cash to revoke approvals after this.

- have a share-pnl feature that lets us share the pnls of our trades/positions.

- be able to bridge back from hypeEVM to base or arbitrum in app.

p.s.s for the live mode, i noticed that the session keeps timing out every now and then, with the miniapp keeps prompting me to sign a transaction for a new session, i think it'd be great to look into this.

It's official, @farnalytics is going live in ~24hrs.

I planned on having it go live today but at the last minute, i decided to add a new metric and also conduct more reviews to ensure that the app has little to no issues when it goes live.

While we're waiting though, I'd like to shed more light on what Farnalytics actually is.

Farnalytics (Similar to X analytics) is a miniapp that pulls publicly available data of your Farcaster profile, runs computations on said data and renders your social statistics.

Some metrics you can expect to see include:

→ Follow/unfollow chart data

→ Engagement rate on casts

→ Avg neynar score of all your followers

→ Number and % of your followers who have pro subscriptions

→ Your Pro subscription expiry date

→ Casts with the most engagements

→ Post activity vs engagement count

→ Heatmap showing the times you get most engagements

→ Farcaster Circle containing your mutuals

The last-minute metric I mentioned earlier is a global leaderboard - yes, my intention is to recreate the infamous farcaster leaderboard or at least something close to it - however i've come to realize that it's not something that one can put together on a rush, and for that reason i'll be pushing it down the roadmap for now.

But yes, the other metrics will be available tommorow.

just in case you only just came online and you're wondering what the whole CA talk on the castline (can someone please tell me what FC calls TL 😅) is about, here’s the quick rundown 👇

a few hours ago, @dwr put out a cast with the word “CA” and an address in it. to anyone who saw it, it looked like the man himself had decided to drop a token, and naturally, people weren’t going to miss out.

what 99% didn’t realize was that the address wasn’t a token address at all - it was just a regular wallet address.

@dwr was trying to pull a prank.

the idea was basically that anyone who tried searching the address to trade would find nothing, because again, it was a wallet address, not a token.

unfortunately @dwr didn’t take into account that someone would actually take that wallet address and turn it into a token ticker.

as a result, when people searched for the token, the scam token popped up. once it did, the buying began.

@dwr was notified about what was happening, and he put out a statement saying he wasn’t behind the token.

as soon as that came out, it immediately turned into a race to sell, and people began tanking the chat.

and that was pretty much the whole thing.

i’ve seen a couple of discussions on the whole saga, and imo (take it or leave it), the fault lies with:

(i) those who bought in and

(ii) dwr.

(i)

a good chunk of people on here have been in the space for a while, they didn't get in straight from web2.

a post like that should’ve had most doing basic checks - was dwr hacked? is the token legit?

i get that no one wanted to miss a potential token launch from the man himself, but at the end of the day, most didn’t do any due diligence before aping in.

(ii)

i don’t think dwr handled the backlash well.

prank aside, he should’ve owned up to the mistake and apologized - most people would’ve let it go.

insisting instead, that he “didn’t tell people to buy” and that it was “their decision” wasn’t (imo) the best response to people (who are his users btw) who just lost a couple bands.

that said, i think we all have learned 2 valuable lessons:

1. to be more careful with the things we post (this applies even more to influencers on here -- kinda reminds of what @zen said about fame and influence)

2. to to always do your own research on things you see on here - (it doesn't matter if it's a miniapp or token or NFT mint, try to do some research first).

p.s. whilst I mentioned that the chart is decent now, I know there are still some who got burnt on this one. if you're one of them, wishing luck on your next play 🤍

There’s a tool that went public a little over a week ago, and I decided to share it here cause what it does is not just cool but also really helpful.

The name of the tool is Cerebro, and it’s an AI-powered portfolio manager that allows you to track your tokens (BTC, ETH, SOL, and NFTs - it’s multi-chain) all in one place.

In addition to that, you get performance metrics of your tokens & an AI that can provide investment strategies (passive balanced, aggressive, ultra-aggressive - whichever rolls with your risk appetite)

My quick take:

- The UX is pretty smooth, and I liked the fact that I didn’t have to connect my wallet or sign any txns

- I like the fact that the free plan allows one to access most of the tool's features (according to the dev, they’re not really doing this for profit)

- Finally, maintaining and balancing one’s IRL portfolio can be a pain - not to talk of web3, where fragmentation of assets across...

I tried severally but wasn't able to get the tipping to work (I earned a bit but it's like the app didn't recognize my wallet so I couldn't approve USDC - I wasn't even able to add an external wallet), still gonna check though.

my review on the Bungee Mini App:

- UX on both mobile and PC is pretty good (imo the rolling balls should totally be removed — I know there’s an option to disable them, but when enabled, they don’t look good on mobile).

- The app worked great with external wallets (whether for swaps or detecting tokens) but the problem started with Farcaster’s native wallet.

First, I noticed that some tokens weren’t detected, and even when I selected the token in the search section, the amount in my wallet wasn’t reflected.

Also, when I disconnected my Farcaster from it, I couldn’t get it to connect back because it said the connection was still active (a solution to this would be importing my Farcaster wallet just to disconnect the app but I'm not keen on doing that).

It’s been almost a year since I joined Farcaster, and I’ve got to give credit to the team for all the upgrades (especially around wallet and UX) - things are so much better than they were months ago.

That said, there’s one thing that’s still a bit frustrating (not sure if others are experiencing this too):

And it has to do with tab/section switching (going from Home to Following or other channels).

Sometimes could be scrolling through Home, and with the tiniest swipe, I end up in the Following section.

It’s annoying cause I have to swipe back and wait for the page to reload.

Would really appreciate some tweaks around that.
