In Thus Spoke Zarathustra, Nietzsche writes about the 3 stages of evolution. The Camel, The Lion, & The Dragon.
The Camel
The Camel represents the burden stage, the long walk through the desert, often starving for a higher purpose and carrying heavy loads.
The Dragon
The Dragon represents "Thou Shalt", all the rules of G-d and the ultimate authority of societal norms, every golden scale on the drake represents a rule you've blindly followed or accepted in the past.
The Lion
The Lion is the rebel phase, the lion utters the sacred "no". While the lion is strong enough to conquer the dragon and claim freedom, it cannot create anything new. It only destroys what came before.
The Child
The 4th stage, of enlightenment is the child. (The Creator) To move beyond animalistic rebellion, the lion must become the child. The child represents innocence, a fresh start, and a "sacred Yes". Free from the dragon's rules and the anger of the lion, the child sees life as a game—creating new values and embracing the world with joy and creativity.
