China is accelerating its lead in humanoid robotics.
Morgan Stanley now expects 50,000 humanoid robot shipments from China in 2026, almost double its previous forecast of 28,000 units.
Even more striking:
Chinese companies accounted for roughly 85% of global humanoid robot shipments in 2025.
Meanwhile, US players like Tesla, Figure AI and Agility Robotics were each shipping around 150 units.
Barclays estimates the humanoid robotics market could grow from $2–3B today to $200B by 2035.
The AI race is not just about models anymore.
It is increasingly about who can manufacture intelligence at scale.

NVIDIA now powers roughly 81% of the world’s 500 fastest supercomputers.
The new TOP500 list, unveiled at ISC 2026, shows NVIDIA technology in more than 400 of them. Up from 78% in November 2025.
A Chinese system called LineShine took the number one spot. But the bigger story is the spread.
NVIDIA also announced 35 AI supercomputers under development across 23 European countries. Its largest single year expansion on the continent.
And it launched the Vera Rubin platform, which it claims packs over seven exaflops of AI performance into a single rack.
The compute layer is consolidating fast. One company is quietly becoming the foundation under almost every serious AI effort on the planet.
That’s a lot of leverage in one place.

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang called AI job fears “complete nonsense” at Computex.
Meanwhile Amazon cut 16,000. Microsoft cut 15,000. Both cited AI efficiency.
Both sides are right. AI is creating jobs and being used as cover for layoffs.
Huang’s actual point lands hardest though: “You’re not losing your job to AI, but to someone who uses AI better.”

Interesting move in AI driven biotech.
Biohub, backed by Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan, just released an open source AI system designed to accelerate drug discovery.
The platform maps 6.8 billion proteins and includes models for protein analysis, structure prediction and molecular design.
Researchers say it could compress parts of the discovery process from years into days or even hours.
The tools are being released openly to the scientific community and integrated into platforms like AWS Bio Discovery.
Feels like another example of AI shifting from consumer hype into real scientific infrastructure.

If you're visiting Prague for @ethprague here's some local tips for you 👇🏽
Stick to card payments when you can. Most places accept cards 💳
The old town and city centre are beautiful, but if you want to grab food and drinks nearby, choose wisely.
Here's some spots near the venue I'd recommend:

> Cacao Prague, café bar right next to Kolkovna Celnice
> Pizza Nuova, one of the best Neapolitan pizzerias in town (5 min walk from the venue)
> Lokál Dlouhááá, local food and beer (5 min walk from the venue)
> Sushi Oishi, top rated sushi (3 min walk from the Municipal house)
> PULT, draft beer bar next to Sushi Oishi with great local brews and small bites
This should help you avoid the tourist traps.

Amazon just rolled out Claude Code company-wide. Codex follows on 12 May.
Reverses a November 2025 mandate that blocked third-party AI coding tools in favour of Amazon’s in-house Kiro.
Both run on Bedrock so security controls stay intact.
The right call. Build internally where it matters but don’t lock engineers out of the best tools just because you’ve got your own.

Coinbase just laid off 14% of its workforce.
The official email from Brian Armstrong is that AI is changing how companies operate.
Engineers shipping in days what used to take teams weeks. Non-technical teams writing production code. The future being “small, high context teams”.
There’s truth in that. AI is genuinely changing how work gets done.
But let’s be honest. Big tech companies have been bloated for years. Layers of managers managing managers.
Roles that overlap. People who never had a clear remit in the first place.
AI is the convenient excuse to fix what should have been fixed long ago.
The companies that emerge from this leaner aren’t winning because of AI.
They’re winning because they finally cut the fat they should have cut years ago.
AI just gave leadership the cover to do it without looking heartless.
