for scientists, an error is simply the gap between prediction and outcome.
It carries no moral weight. It’s just information.
We all need to be more like scientists and don’t obsess over errors and mistakes! 🙏

Some think this is reversal of a16z’s decentralization view but I see it as a correction towards institutional reality
This essay tempers DeFi maximalism with institutional realism — but decentralization still matters deeply for the open ecosystem’s vitality and long-term optionality
Most of us were wrong with wishful thinking expecting it to dominate or fully subsume TradFi. That fight is lost — and probably was lost since the start.
This also tracks broader web3 industry evolution toward hybrid realities and towards — those who bring customers win 🥇 reality.
The underlying tech still matters but it doesn’t bring customers it is used by them.

Something positive for those born in Aquarius ♒️ from my astrology friend
The upcoming Full Moon in Aquarius is the ultimate cosmic software update. If you’ve been building in the shadows, get ready—the spotlight is turning your way. 🌕
This isn’t about emotional drama; it’s about execution. Aquarius energy is strategic, disruptive, and ruthlessly focused on the future. Time to audit what’s holding your vision back.
Opposing the Leo Sun, the tension is real: Ego vs. Ecosystem. The trap is playing small to fit in. The win? Leveraging your unique edge to elevate the whole network.
Drop the legacy code. Clear out the dead-weight projects. This lunation gives you the green light to launch that radical pivot and finally own your genius. Let’s build. 🚀

Funny thing how many people and companies actually thought that AI agents will figure out their
- processes - and workflow - and the business for them
But business doesn’t work like that 🤷♂️
big surprise that technologies still needs direction and you are supposed to know what you wanna do and why!
And you need to give (to the technology) direction and “why” so it would become useful for your goals and organization.
otherwise it’s just technology for technology sake 🤖

I hope Thinking Machines and Mia Murati will win the AI race with their worldview 🙏
"Humanity has flourished through individual weirdness and creative tension. We envision alignment as a feature not of a single model but of an ecosystem of AIs raised in different places, disagreeing, competing, and learning from each other.
We believe in keeping the weirdness alive."
No other frontier LLM lab leader has come even close to expressing sensible and human-centric view of the future as Thinking Machines.

This is why centralized powers are so dangerous when aided by AI — they only care about power preservation 🚨
“The social contract between corporations, governments, and citizens relies on individuals’ productive capabilities on which the government’s sovereignty and corporations’ profits ultimately depend.
Power that needs nothing from people loses the incentive to care for their needs and values, caring instead for its own preservation."

Is $1,500 to $2,000 a month per engineer the new baseline for staying competitive?
I know FC is home of mostly nimble startups so it might be different but …
… word on the street is that tech companies operating on the absolute bleeding edge are dropping exactly that on AI credits and frontier model agents.
The thesis is simple: give devs unlimited, 24/7 access to the absolute best models and autonomous loops so they can experiment and deploy without hitting a bottleneck.
I’m curious where the reality lands compared to the anecdotal evidence.
If you are tracking this data for your team, what does your actual monthly spend look like per head?

Why I Ditched Social Feeds for a Private Notebook
There used to be tens of blogging platforms you could use for free. It seemed like the internet was only going to get better.
Apparently, it only got worse. I was recently looking for a platform for random, not-yet-fully-formed thoughts. I don’t want to pay for it because it’s just a hobby, not a business. No multimedia, nothing big—just pure writing.
Asking the LLMs got me nowhere but frustrated.
The Landscape: Social Networks vs. Pure Text Turned out my only obvious choices were big social networks like X, BlueSky, or Farcaster (the decentralized version of X). Or other networks like Nostr or Lens.
Even Tumblr is still kicking, which surprised me because I thought it died years ago.
But proper blogging platforms have too much UI overhead just to post a short thought. Micro-blogging it is.
Golden Rule of Capture For Me: If the friction to post a random thought requires more than two clicks, your framework is broken. Keep the pipeline stupidly simple.
My old favorite from 2020, Write.as, was beautifully designed just for writing and supported anonymous posts. They had a free tier and an iOS app. Too bad that app hasn’t seen an update in seven years, and the free tier is dead. Starting at nine bucks a month for a fun side project makes zero sense.
Then there is Micro.blog and Mataroa. Mataroa is too techie and lacks a native iOS app. Micro.blog almost won because five bucks a month is cheap, but I really didn’t want to pay. Bear Blog was another clean possibility, and I thought about Substack Notes, but you can’t download your data in bulk. Once it’s posted there, it’s lost unless you screenshot it.
The Pivot to an Unexpected Creative Vault I thought I’d be swimming in options, but it felt like choosing different types of pain.
Since nobody likes pain, I almost gave up. I didn’t want to use Apple Notes because it gets chaotic too fast.
Then I had a last-minute idea: I created a private collection (like a notebook) inside the Sublime.app.
I am chronologically saving my thoughts there. The magic happens when I review my text. Sublime resurfaces potentially relevant ideas and notes from other users inside the ecosystem. Reviewing my random thoughts became a much more fun and inspiring experience than I ever expected.
If you haven’t tried the Sublime app yet, you need to. For creative thinkers, it is a brutally under-promoted and under-appreciated tool!
Definitely let me know how you like it

Soooo which one is the right path for Ethereum 🤔
- Progressivists' organisation focused on ETH price and its growth or - EF's kinda academic/idealistic communism ???
A skeptic could say: this is classic 2017-style 'token holder primacy' rhetoric that conflates short-term market cap with long-term network value — exactly the framing the EF was set up to resist. 😱
I think ETH price should be low as long as we have to pay gas-fees with it 😇

Elon is again thinking and acting at least a decade ahead of others 🙇♂️
Lesson for founders in this is:
- make proof of concept that works (Colossus) - secure demand for future scale (deals below) - then make it happen (orbital data centers)

One of the hardest questions someone can ask you is a simple — what future would you want to see?
How would you answer that? 😳
It’s hard, isn’t it!

Context matters Think about it when crafting your marketing and project messages.
Context can be 50% of understanding the message. Whether in business or foreign languages.
It is the classic "lexical vs. semantic" gap — someone can know the literal definition of every single word in a sentence and still have absolutely no clue what just happened because they lack the cultural, technical, or situational framework.
When you are deep in a space, you forget that your everyday vocabulary is someone else's alien language.
EXAMPLES:
1. The Startup Example: "We just raised a massive down round."
- The Literal Words: "We just collected a large amount of money in a lower circle."
- The Zero-Context Interpretation: A non-business reader might think, "Oh, nice! They got a bunch of money. Sounds like a win." 💪
- The Real Meaning (The Context): In the startup world, a "down round" means the company is valued at less than it was during its previous funding cycle. It signals financial distress, massive equity dilution for the founders and early employees, and a bruising blow to company morale. It is a desperate survival move, not a victory lap.
2. The Crypto Example: "The protocol was exploited, and the attacker drained the LP pool."
- The Literal Words: "The official procedure was taken advantage of, and the attacker emptied the swimming area."
- The Zero-Context Interpretation: Sounds vaguely like someone snuck into a community center after hours to play a prank or mess with the plumbing. 😄
- The Real Meaning (The Context): A smart contract had a vulnerability in its code. A hacker used a flash loan or a reentrancy bug to siphon millions of dollars worth of user-deposited crypto tokens out of a decentralized exchange's liquidity pool. It’s a devastating financial heist.

Creators & Artists & Writers all have the same go-to-market problem like any other Founder looking for distribution 🚨
You may think: "I am not selling anything, I'm enriching people's lives."
Yet, you're asking people for their time, attention, and sometimes even money 💰 And that's what = selling.
Experiment, read, and learn about GTM like your startup depends on it! Because pretty much everything depends on it.
Will post more about it soon 🤓

The urge to turn every hobby into a hustle is one of the most common versions of performance-problem 🤓
You can't perform well at anything new unless you're willing to be a beginner again.
Also, it's totally fine to just do things for fun without any clear outcome! 😇
