BizarreBeasts Acheives 1st Place in DCP Base Creator Grant!
I am going absolutely BIZARRE and deeply honored to announce that BizarreBeasts achieved the #1 ranking in the Decentralized Pictures (DCP) Award for Base Creators, an onchain grant supporting innovative artists!
Check out the Official DCP Announcement!
This award is a huge win for the entire BizarreBeasts community! While the Top 3 projects all received the $1,000 in production funding prize, we are incredibly proud that our vision, dedication, and community engagement were recognized by DCP with the highest ranking on the leaderboard.
This grant immediately unlocks:
$1,000 Funding: Dedicated entirely to accelerating BizarreBeasts IP and platform expansion.
Amplified Visibility: Publication and coining support on Zora.
Media Invitation: An invitation to participate in the TALNT Cast Podcast to share our BIZARRE story.
This achievement confirms the strength of building artist-led/community-first projects onchain, and it’s all thanks to you.
Noteworthy Achievements: What Makes BizarreBeasts Stand-out
This recognition highlights the organic growth and dedication that define the BizarreBeasts ($BB) ecosystem. Here’s a look at the key achievements that make this project stand out as BIZARRE:
Deep Community Engagement: Over 150,000 total game plays and a true grassroots community of 5,800+ token holders and 1,800+ NFT collectors; proving real, organic community growth and on-going utility on Base.
Artist-Turned-Developer Execution: The entire ecosystem: 100s of original hand-drawn illustrations and animations, 9 game titles, 3 smart contracts, and the full BizarreBeastes miniapp, was built single-handedly by the founder/artist, who learned the necessary technology to execute the creative vision.
Future-Forward IP: We have a clear and bold vision for scaling this project from original artwork and web3 minigames into a full-scale, art, media, and merch-driven business model, demonstrating the power of onchain funding for IP development.
I am grateful that DCP recognized the potential in our resourceful, artist-led approach to building the BizarreBeasts community and project.
Reinvestment Plan: $1,000 to Fuel the Fire
We are immediately putting the $1,000 funding to work, focusing on two critical areas that directly benefit the project's IP expansion and community health:
Enhanced Production Capabilities: The primary use will be for technology investments and supplies necessary to expand our production capabilities for BizarreBeasts artwork and animations.
Direct Community Rewards: A dedicated portion of the funds will be used for Community rewards, recognizing the BIZARRE support and dedication of the BizarreBeasts community, including our core token and NFT holders.
The amplification opportunities through Zora and the TALNT Cast Podcast will ensure this expanded content reaches the widest possible audience.
A Sincere Thank You
To DCP and the entire Base ecosystem: Thank you for providing this vital support and platform for emerging creators. I am honored that BizarreBeasts is part of the first class of awardees.
To the BizarreBeasts community: You are the BIZARRE secret weapon. Your daily engagement, feedback, and unwavering support are the true engine behind this project that is pushing us forward. I promise to keep building, innovating, and delivering the most fun and BIZARRE artwork and gaming ecosystem on Base!
Let's celebrate this win and get back to building the future of BizarreBeasts!

About The Artist
I'm the artist and builder behind BizarreBeasts ($BB), creating a universe where art and web3 technology converge. This is where everything I am intersects: an artist captivated by darkly humorous outsider art, a builder who creates games and miniapps, a musician performing original soundtracks, and a true BIZARRE believer in decentralized creativity.
This project was born from a vision of what's possible when an artist fully owns their creative universe: exploring the opportunities and economies that web3 enables to build a legacy of creativity and freedom for myself and the BizarreBeasts community. Learn more about me.
