this triggered me.

always thought NFTs should be framed like regular artwork.

only caveat is you need to add a QR code that links to a page with provenance info.

the problem is - u don’t want to link etherscan/opensea as they are not great

-> so i built my own platform with cc yesterday

lets you download a full res image with a qr code positioned in any corner you select. the code links back to this page with all the provenance.

need to figure out best way to make links/domain permanent using ipfs.

base acquired farcaster to speedrun their pivot to trading first. base is too small to have these 2 competing platforms.

farcaster is a superior product, base has the better distribution. so natural acquisition considering.

my 2c:

the base app should function and aesthetically look like an operating system.

- a smart wallet.

- an app store for onchain apps.

- xmpt powers easy group chats with built-in agents.

✅ builders use it because it’s the best distribution channel for onchain apps (think ios app store) and because it helps them identify high reputation users for airdrops, access, and targeting.

✅ creators can use it to publish content but not directly through the base app (content coins are a narrow use case, and zora can continue to experiment and grow that category without it being a core focus of the base app)

✅ people use it to discover and interact with onchain apps and tokens, and to build an onchain reputation.

i don’t think base should have a native social feed. let people build their own farcaster clients, and let users access them through mini apps.

long term, this naturally leads to releasing a phone that runs the os.

people complain about snipers on token launches, but sniping isn’t the real issue. the anger is just misplaced frustration that someone else was faster, more prepared, or simply better at the game.

nothing stops anyone from waiting for a clean entry and buying later. the real problem is people wanting to be early without understanding risk, liquidity, timing, or actual demand.

you hear “everything is a scam” and “real devs are losing liquidity,” but most of that is just cope. good projects are good projects. nobody is stealing your liquidity. if you think someone else’s launch is hurting you, build something better. the market sorts this stuff out fast.

most people buy hoping for a quick 50x, then blame snipers or devs when the chart doesn’t magically go their way. this is why every token chart looks the same.

if you want a chance in the first few seconds, build a sniper. if you can’t, then focus on knowing what to buy and when to buy it instead of gambling on every new thing.

most losses come from greed and bad judgment, not some evil “extraction.” no creator is responsible for your bad entries. the market isn’t against you. it’s just a skill issue.

i thought that the @jesse.base.eth launch was excellent. i do not understand the complaints. u can argue that the flywheel idea will never work, but that is a different argument.

so this started as a weekend project.

after minting out the bags and clanking $FGLD, i thought hard on what to do with the mini app and the collection.

✨ introducing: sealed inscriptions ✨

loot bags were always mysterious objects. now, they can carry secrets. burn $FGLD → get credits -> inscribe a hidden message inside your loot bag → choose a future base block height for reveal. transfer the bag, gift it, trade it, sell it... but the message stays sealed until its destined moment. when the block arrives, only the current holder can reveal the message with a wallet signature.

loot bags can now be: 📜 time capsules 💌 secret letters 🧩 hidden riddles 🔮 vessels of prophecy

this gives some utility to $FGLD + a fun way to use the mini app and the NFTs.

Bitcoin is being dumped by long-term holders due to quantum risk. A quantum computer with sufficient logical Qubits will be able to break the private keys of 20-30% of the coins. This means that Bitcoin is effectively providing a US$500 billion 'science prize' to the first company to build the computer which breaks the encryption. There are some potential solutions for the problem, but it is clear that because Bitcoin has no management or leaders, they won't be adopted. The Bitcoin protocol will most likely die once quantum hacks starts happening, as confidence will be destroyed.

after loot (for farcasters) minted out yesterday, i promised to clank fgld.

70% of fgld will be airdropped to holders. it will be locked for 1 day and then vest over 7 days, just to make sure the launch is smooth. claim on clanker.

the bags, and now fgld, are just primitives. a base layer on base and farcaster. anyone is free to build on top of this universe… or not. that’s the beauty of it.

there’s no grand roadmap. loot has always been cco, and it always will be.

i’ll keep improving the mini-app and making fun things, tools, and remixes for people who want to create with their bags.
